Management Legacy continued...........

Hey guys!!! We are GTUians. So have you ever noticed that it sounds just like IITians because the'ians' is the same. Same is the situation with us. Your syllabus is large like IIT and paper are out of (so damn large) syllabus; but we don't have the plus points of IIT( being in IIT!!!!, placement with large package, etc.). Management paper was bad and Micro was lenghty plus seven marks were hmmm...... how to say this delicately........ Not in our reference book. So my suggestion is that GTU should publish it's own book to solve all the problems(just like GSHEB). We should work hard this time people because I think the papers are aimed at proving that studying in GTU is not easy. Anyways all we can do is hope for the best as usual! So gear up and work hard people. All the Best as always........

Where are we going with this?

The internals were already terrible with lack of adequate time and now this management paper! Well to all those good people of GTU who referred Pearson are finding themselves in a soup. The paper was basically a Production Management Paper. The whole third year or as I call it the “Genie Pig Batch” feels like they have wasted their time reading the Pearson Book. Well the frist paper is generally controversial, remember the Maths-I Paper of the “Genie Pig Batch”. As in then, I am sure this paper will be sent to IIM to check whether it’s contents are in Syllabus (Headings given to us; I don’t feel that’s its fare to call it syllabus). On the positive side, I believe we could attempt the questions and bluff as much as we want to. My dreams and hopes of feeling certainty in GTU have now died. Hope we all score nice. And All the Best for all other exams!!!!!!

A Really Awesome Comment

Hi Guys. My Brother Deep put this comment and I found it awesome. So I edited it a little bit and here it is:
Hello GTUians(I don't know how the hell is that pronounced, but that what u guys are supposed to call yourselves). Being the a student of the last batch of SPU, I know how lucky I am. My appreciation increased even more when I came to know how the GTU works. It has been successful in achieving some of the most historic achievements that were not possible till now. I mean I am referring to the fact that GTU even makes universities or shall i say EX-universities such as South-Gujarat, Saurashtra look good, much better than GTU. That's an achivement that GTU can't boast of.
Lets go in much deeper details. What was the need of GTU. According to me GTU was required so that all the colleges could have a similar curriculum(which was supposed to be better than the existing), the platform where all the students can compete and so that no unfair advantage is given to a collage because of its geographical or economic conditions. but has it been successful in doing so? It has created more chaos and confusions amongst students then ever before.
And guess whats the cherry on the huge icing on the cake, they don't give a B-Tech degree. I mean its right there in the name
"Gujarat TECHNICAL University"
It seems that this step is nothing more than a politically motivated step, where Gujarat can boost of having a uniform system throughout the state.
And yeah, I still haven't discussed about the various ridiculous methods that GTU applies in times of adversities. i mean asking IITians to check if the questions are from your syllabus? i mean come on guys, they are the "IItians", everything a topic that they would like to study. and beside that it like asking James Bond if its ok to kill, come on guys grow up they are trained to do so.
On a much more personal level, when I passed my board exams, I thought that this is the end of an era. Now I wont have to cram things or write painfully long exams. some of this is true for SPU, but GTU is nothing more than an extended version of GSHSEB(the same board that took ur 12th exams). Engineers are supposed to be good at problem solving and have a bit of creativity in them. But what the hell we are trained here for? reading book and writing the same in your question paper. aren't we supposed to learn practical's here. i mean where is the provision for that in the mark system.
At the end all I can say is that nothing is lost until hope is not lost. So guys don't loose your hope(although u have got only freakishly less sems left).
PS- the above advice is just to sooth you. It had got no practical application(because it has still not been proved that thoughts can change reality- other than in the book-"the lost symbol" or whatever) and the probability of that happening if almost nil.

GTU Campus Conect

Guess what? GTU is now trying to connect to the campus. The official website is www.gtucampusconnect.org. Well at the first thought I was quite happy to get this news. Unfortunately my joy was short lived because the site had not been updated since 4 Sep’. The site is actually very well built. A valiant effort of our brothers from LD. But there are dozens of unreplied queries on the site. The download section is just fine but you could download that stuff from the GTU main site as well. The best part is that the comments are really good on the query page. I mean at least we can all see what questions we all have on a single platform. Well if u ask me it’s a good step for all GTU students, but, the very big “BUT”, is that will GTU maintain this site? We sure hope they DO! As for right now they got a lot of work to do and so do we; the internals are coming and the big 30 marks this time!!! So overall is a positive step for us(in a long time) but I hope that they will soon reply to queries and keep updating the site. Lets see how this goes. And ya best of luck to everyone for internals!!!

Practicals???

Seriously? After all the work we do in gtu, this guys still think it's not enough? Buddys we are in a big trouble. I mean if we are to give practical exams then how long will be one semester! I wish I was born one year earlier, I would have enjoyed college life much more, passed with flying colours and what not…… But since all of us have to face it, let’s face it with a broad chest and smiling face(in Viva). I just pray to god everyday that Gtu should not do anything new because everything new is nothing but a gate-way to new problems.
So friends lets see how we face this one!!!! Good luck to everyone.

Finally the big roller coaster ride is over.........It was really a hard time ;-( Sleeping less and working more. The papers were as usual (same questions, same paper pattern). Exams are an interesting time because u always think of things to do after exam; which of course you never complete. Anyways this time the exams were short but not sweet. They were exhausting and guess what we are rewarded with only 20 days for such hardwork!!!!!!!
Guess all we can do is enjoy whatever little happiness we get till we are slapped with our results.......Wish all you all the best for vacations and results!!!!!!

Exam Time Table

I don't know what's the hurry? This people expect us engineers to be machines ow what? No holidays in between.... We have got to do something. We all already facing troubles with that huge and gigantic syllabus based on the IIT and now this schedule for exams......
You know there have been suicide cases. I am scared to death. Hope this administration people know what they are doing. With each passing sem it's becoming more and more difficult to score.
The subjects are getting vast and complicated, not to mention we don't get a long enough PL.
This time it's a Herculian(very difficult) task just to pass in all subjects. Lets hope for best.
My Best wishes to all the GTU students.
