GTU Campus Conect

Guess what? GTU is now trying to connect to the campus. The official website is www.gtucampusconnect.org. Well at the first thought I was quite happy to get this news. Unfortunately my joy was short lived because the site had not been updated since 4 Sep’. The site is actually very well built. A valiant effort of our brothers from LD. But there are dozens of unreplied queries on the site. The download section is just fine but you could download that stuff from the GTU main site as well. The best part is that the comments are really good on the query page. I mean at least we can all see what questions we all have on a single platform. Well if u ask me it’s a good step for all GTU students, but, the very big “BUT”, is that will GTU maintain this site? We sure hope they DO! As for right now they got a lot of work to do and so do we; the internals are coming and the big 30 marks this time!!! So overall is a positive step for us(in a long time) but I hope that they will soon reply to queries and keep updating the site. Lets see how this goes. And ya best of luck to everyone for internals!!!

  1. hey bro, just want to add some of my thoughts on your blog.

hello GTUians(i dont know how the hell is that pronounced, but that what u guys r supposed to call ur selves). being the a student of the last batch of SPU, i know how lucky i am. my appreciation increased even more when i came to know how the GTU works. it has been successful in achieving some of the most historic achivements that were not possible till now. i mean i m refering to the fact that GTU even makes universities or shall i say EX-universities such as south-gujarat, saurashtra look good, much better than GTU. that's an achivement that GTU can't boost of.

lets go in much deeper details. what was the need of GTU. according to me GTU was required so that all the colleges could have a similar curriculum(which was supposed to be better than the existing), the platform where all the students can compete and so that no unfair advantage is given to a collage because of its geographical or economic conditions. but has it been successful in doing so? it has created more chaos and confusions amongst students then ever before.

and guess whats the cherry on the huge icing on the cake, they dont give a B-Tech degree. i mean its right there in the name

    "gujarat TECHNICAL university"

it seems that this step is nothing more than a politically motivated step, where Gujarat can boost of having a uniform system throughout the state.

and yeah, i still havent discussed about the various ridiculous methods that GTU applies in times of adversities. i mean asking IITians to check if the questions are from your syllabus? i mean come on guys, they are the "IItians", everything a topic that they would like to study. and beside that it like asking james bond if its ok to kill, come on guys grow up they are trained to do so.

on a much more personal level, i when i passed my board exams, i thought that this is the end of an era. now i wont have to cramm things or write painfully long exams. some of this is true for SPU, but GTU is nothing more than an extended version of GSHSEB(the same board that took ur 12th exams). engineers are supposed to good at problem solving and have a bit of creativity in them. but what the hell we are trained here for? reading book and writing the same in your question paper. arent we supposed to learn practical's here. i mean where is the provision for that in the mark system.

at the end all i can say is that nothin is lost until hope is not lost. so guys dont loose ur(although u have got only freakishly less sems left) hope.

PS- the above advice is just to sooth you. it had got no practical application(coz it has still not been proved that thoughts can change reality- other than in the book-"the lost symbol" or whatever) and the probability of that happening if almost nil.
